System Manager - Charge Description Master – Full-time, work-from-home, $40-$46 per hour, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Join a growing team!
Required Qualifications of the System Manager - Charge Description Master
- 10+ years of recent charge master experience required
- 5+ years of recent leadership experience required
- RN, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC license/certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Responsibilities of the System Manager - Charge Description Master
- Oversee the Chargemaster to promote accuracy and integrity across revenue-generating departments
- Lead Strategic Charge Policy and Chargemaster initiatives
- Lead maintenance and enhancement of charge activities via the integrated Revenue Cycle Applications, reviewing and optimizing organizational charge structures to assure that charges accurately reflect services and supplies provided and are consistent with current industry best practices
- Consult with department managers to develop and implement policies and procedures for the purposes of reconciling charges posted in the billing system with other source information
- Identify opportunities for Chargemaster improvement by implementing and analyzing the results of routine, random audits
- Develop tools to track and identify potential areas of lost revenue
- Oversee education of staff regarding the appropriate application of CCI, medical necessity, etc. edits
- Review changes in CPT codes, HCPCS codes, and revenue codes for accuracy and compliance with all applicable billing guidelines and reimbursement optimization
- Provide support for clinical documentation improvement program in a standardized manner
- Oversee the integrity of financial and clinical interfaces while facilitating the development of strategic system planning
- Collaborate in developing programs, initiatives, and workflows to provide alignment with education for internal customers to support clinical documentation guidelines
